The ARBA Project will ensure equitable access to drinking water for the communities of Comondú, improving public health, reducing the burden of water hauling especially for women and girls and generating local jobs during its construction and operation.
Thanks to its sustainable design, the project uses clean energy, avoids discharges into the sea, repurposes waste for productive use, and promotes the restoration of mangroves and dunes, thereby protecting the valley’s coastal ecosystems.
ARBA will revitalize local agricultural and livestock activities by providing irrigation water, encourage the production of minerals and natural fertilizers from byproducts, and reduce the region’s dependence on imported food.
